Account load?

I received an email today from the hosting side:
To counter the load, we slightly changed the web server settings so that without the support of Cookies (and Javascript), clients could not enter the site and generate a load. Naturally, Google, Yandex, SeoPult, Robokassy search robots, as well as some others, have been added to the exceptions.
Please tell me what it is and how it threatens the site?

Did they call the registration letters spam? If so, then you need to run away from such a hoster.
If you do not exceed the limits of the tariff and do not send real spam, then the maximum that the host should have done was to ask you to deal with the protection against bots yourself, and not go inside to change your settings.

And what usually threatens to exceed the limit? The refusal of that party to provide services, tk. there is a breach of the contract.
A lot of things can cause a load, crooked scripts, viruses, DDoS, bot chiselling, etc.
Check with the hosting support what causes the load and, based on the data received, you need to think what to do.

All users have JS and cookies enabled by default, so nothing really bad happened.
The site will not open for bots (well, if they don’t start including cookies and js) and a narrow audience of paranoids.

This threatens that crawlers and bots that your hosting provider does not know about will not get to the site. During a DDoS attack, this is correct; during normal operation, it is better to refrain from doing so.
