According to what canons are sites built in the English-speaking segment of the Internet?

I often meet in foreign templates and sites such items as mission, vision, which are extremely rare in Runet.
And in general, the principle of building high-quality portfolio sites and landing pages is somewhat different from the Runet one.
Where can I find detailed information about building a high-quality website / landing page in the English-speaking segment of the Internet? After all, there are definitely canons somewhere according to which almost 95% design the same thing.

Q: Why are their designs better than ours?
Answer: because their designers read a lot of theory and use this theory in practice, and our designers mindlessly copy them, or even sculpt everything from the bullshit.
For example, the principles of building a layout are based on the concept of a perception pattern (visual pattern) . Offhand, Google gives something like this or this (better). This is about the layout and why the blocks go in the order in which they go.
Well, about the grids, the designers seem to have begun to finish slowly. However, not everyone knows that there is still such a thing as a module , and how a modular grid differs from just a grid. For example , modulesand module-based site , where the size of each block is a multiple of the module size.
Modular grids, in turn, are inextricably linked with the concept of vertical rhythm . Here is one of my favorite calculator sites.
So it goes.

I think you just need to take examples and study them yourself.
