About writing verbose Russian-language domains
In the wake of the reckless buying of Russian-language domains, one question remained unanswered: on what basis are certain spelling options for verbose domains chosen?
For example, someone wants to create a site about ancient Russian architecture "Wooden Churches of Russia". For these purposes, he can register the domain "Wooden Churches. RF" and the domain with a hyphen - "Wooden Churches. RF".
In domains in the Latin alphabet, domains without hyphens have become traditional. However, the rules of the Russian language hammered into us will protest against the writing of "inseparable" phrases.
So the question is: if some spelling becomes traditional in the future, which one - with a hyphen, or without? And is there any conjecture - why exactly?

With a hyphen. By the fact that this is a convenient separating sign that is in every layout, it does not have particularly significant other meanings (and most people ignore it for some unknown reason). Breaking Russian text into blocks will greatly improve its readability.
Let me summarize.
On November 16, 2010, the X001-10 standard was adopted, which regulates the way to record domains in the .рф zone containing at least two words.
When the words are long, then in Latin it is also more convenient with a hyphen. And if the words are short, then it looks good together.
the hyphen in Latin domains is simply unfashionable. For some reason, people between writing with a hyphen and without, prefer without.
Maybe it's cultural features, maybe some other bugs like old directories that had problems with the hyphen.
But experts advise registering all domains - with all possible hyphens.
Friends, the question is a little different: are you ready to give a prediction on what kind of spelling will be “by default”?
And will there be a pronounced division into the fact that “Russian-language domains with a hyphen are better than without, because everyone types with a hyphen”?
For me, this is completely incomprehensible, and I do not know what to base my forecast on. On the one hand, logic suggests that “it is accepted that it is better without hyphens”, and on the other hand, “merged words without hyphens look stupid.rf”.
The option without hyphens has become the standard, for one simple reason, this option is faster and easier to type.
But I agree, Cyrillic domains look better with hyphens.
Of course, it is better that the site be available both on the domain with a hyphen and on the domain without a hyphen.
However, domains with a hyphen read somehow more pleasantly.
