about the Routing and Remote Access service in current versions of Windows
I apologize in advance, the question is rather vague. Accordingly, the exact answer is not required, although if there is something to clarify - please.
Do I understand correctly that everything related to setting up this service should be done carefully, slowly and without unnecessary movements? As far as I remember from old memory, the service behaved rather capriciously in W2003, to the point that it was possible to get into a situation where it was not possible to continue its configuration without restarting the machine. Perhaps someone will tell me if anything has changed with the advent of W2008, during the development of which it was stated that the resource access model would improve in terms of asynchronous access, lock handling, etc.?

Well… what's the question, that's the answer: I always break down the step-by-step instructions first, break down each action into what's going on and how to treat it if it doesn't, and then just follow through.
Usually, everything takes off the first time.
NAT is configured quite simply, but nat plus a vpn server is a pain in the ass.
I'm tinkering now because I have to, and I plan to write a manual if I don't find anything
