A simple editor with text formatting for Linux
Somehow, before, a text editor was not really needed - Google Docs was enough or, in the simplest case, GEdit. I saw OpenOffice in Ubuntu, but in the latest version of Ubuntu some kind of LibreOffice, I was not interested, maybe what kind of fork? But in general - terribly buggy. You sit in Google Docs and quickly throw thoughts into the text, but here you sit and correct its glitches with text formatting (ordinary headings are hard-wired).
Why not Google Docs? I am writing a serious document - paranoia :) In addition, it is justified, articles on a related topic have already been published on Habré. Maybe there are some other simple and convenient document editors for Linux?

it looks like you just don't understand the logic of working with WYSIWYG word processors. Openofis is quite a stable package even for corporate use. In all the years of working with him, I saw only a couple of small glitches related specifically to formatting, and even then I don’t immediately remember which ones. I did not notice the transition to Libreoffice at all, it works exactly the same.
Maybe it's worth taking a look at the manual? Unless, of course, you really need it

In any case, you can put open office back.
sudo apt-get install openoffice.org
one of the lighter alternatives to Writer is AbiWord
or write HTML in any notepad with syntax highlighting, then tweak the design with CSS :)
