A separate infoblock or a media library?

There is a page on the site where photos of the office are located, and these photos are not used anywhere else. You may just need to compress them and display them in a pop-up window. For this reason, I did not store them directly in the partition folder (so that they can be compressed automatically using CFile::resizeImageGet()). However, I considered that creating a separate infoblock for the sake of this is too much; uploaded images to a separate collection of the media library and output from there using the API. The only problem is that you can't use a ready-made news.list-type component, and there is no time to create your own component.
Correct, in general, the approach? What problems might arise in this situation? Or would it be better to create a "Photos" infoblock and store images there?

Taking into account the peculiarities of the 'ecosystem' of Bitrix, you need to create an info block - otherwise you won't use the components out of the box
