A flooded laptop. How to hide it?

Hello! I took a working laptop home for the weekend and, since my hands were not from the right place, I accidentally poured tea on it (about half a mug, a little warm). I immediately unplugged everything, turned it over and put it to dry. The battery is hidden inside, so I did not remove it. I gave it for diagnostics, as a result, it seems like a problem with the motherboard. They asked for a lot of money for repairs, so they did not repair it. While I'm working on an old computer, but I'm going to quit and return the laptop. Tell me, please, can I somehow convincingly lie about the breakdown, so as not to arouse suspicion and I was not forced to buy a new one? Or cover it up somehow? Everything is complicated by the fact that 4 years ago I already flooded the laptop and they forgave me, they gave me a new one

What happened once may never happen again. But what happened twice will surely happen a third time.
Here the main question is not how to hide, but how to make sure that this does not happen again. The advice to "be careful" is unlikely to work (see the epigraph). So the main advice is to never drink (or eat) at the computer again. It is also good for digestion. But how can you just take and get rid of the habit? You need willpower.
And to hide - obviously, by deceit, it's either ordering repairs, or self-repair, or buying a laptop / its parts, or setting someone up to get the money, not you, etc. All this is disgusting and not worth the rest of your life to consider yourself a poop. Even if you get fired, you yourself will continue to remember who you are. Remembering is not pleasant, sharing with someone is also not pleasant. Do you need such baggage? It is better to tell honestly, and God forbid you will be forgiven again , but if not, you will have to pay. In any case, this will have to be done, the only question is the price - money or a piece of your soul . What is cheaper?

There are 3 types of people
1) Learn from their mistakes
2) Learn from others' mistakes
3) Never learn - your option.
There must have been tea with sugar, and carosis has already begun.
To hide the problem, you need to open the laptop and wash the motherboard with distillate under the steam generator. Then dry for 24 hours in the oven.
How are you going to do all this - I have no idea.

A paradoxical answer, but a repair (most likely by replacing the motherboard) will perfectly hide the traces of the bay.
Even if you wash everything, the eaten tracks and contacts, as well as traces of corrosion on the fasteners, will be visible.

contact the service specialists with a request not to "repair the laptop", since it is expensive for you, but to "remove traces of flooding". And then at work, clapping their eyes like "I don't know, something once and everything went out and does not turn on."
But it's all wrong somehow ... Here, how to steal office from work - it seems like a trifle, but it spoils karma, so oyoy.

admins are people too, come up and agree "in a good way". Admins differ from other office workers in that they always have autonomous isolated closets, in which only they can enter and in which there is definitely no video surveillance. Thought, I think, is clear? :D

It all depends on how strict you are. If they signed something, they can easily deduct the cost of repairs from the calculation (or they can’t - there are many circumstances, but this cannot be ruled out).
If not strictly - they can simply scold stupidly - also not very pleasant.
In addition, there is such a thing as reputation, which can suddenly catch up with you in a new place, and new management can be ambivalent.
In general, of course, it’s your business, you can lie, maybe it’ll even fail now (but it will suddenly catch up in three years when you get a “dream job”, where the personnel officer will have a good friend of your former leader’s friend’s neighbor :)
