A flagship smartphone or a mid-range smartphone with a good microphone?

The evolution of gadgets is in full swing - for some it is already quite acceptable to have a dialer, a camera, and a player in a smartphone - it's convenient, but everything is somehow bad:

  • dialer slows down
  • the player consumes too much power
  • the camera consumes even more and shoots with delays
  • The microphone refuses to record properly in some cases
  • etc

At the moment I'm interested in the microphone. Which of today's smartphones are better than others for recording a concert from the crowd?
Now I have the flagship of autumn 2011 - when I try to record something at a noisy concert, I get some terrible sounds and some vocals, most likely due to the high volume and a lot of low and high frequencies. BUT, then I come home, I go to youtube, and I see a video with sound quality much better than in my case, and from the angle it is clear that the “cameraman” and I were standing 3-5 meters apart.

@mishin

I saw and heard the results of recording with Nokia Lumia 920. Very even.

I have been interested in this issue for a long time. So far, out of everything we've tested, the iPhones have done the best - practically without any complaints.
Of the android phones, I haven’t seen anything standing next to me ... I continue to search))

I recommend taking last year's flagships, the price has already dropped by 2 times, and you get a high-quality device, where you did not save on microphones, speakers, screen, etc. (compared to the new "state employees" of the middle price category)
