A couple of questions about AMD Freesync?

Hello, I'm choosing a budget (24' FullHd) monitor up to 10k and I've come across these standards.
1) AMD Freesync will work with an Nvidia video card (GTX 1660 super)
2) AMD Freesync will work when connected via HDMI
3) AMD Freesync is generally the thing I need, in what situations should I chase it?

1) Usually Nvidia has G-Sync, not Freesync.
2) The task is to speed up fps.
