404 error when unpublishing, how to change the template?

The problem is this, the site is on modx revo, it is configured to display 404 errors, with its own template. If you enter a non-existent address, it works correctly. 404 header and 404 page template. If you unpublish a page, the header is 404, but the template remains from this page, and the page is fully accessible via a direct link. I can not understand where to dig?
