2 SSDs on a laptop?
Good evening! I'm using a laptop with an HDD installed. On this hard drive, as it were, by default, the system, games and applications (which is not entirely encouraging). So I decided to install an SSD, but not one, but two.
Instead of HDD I want to install Western Digital WDS500G2B0A 500 GB. I plan to use this SATA drive for games and applications (for everything in general). And I want to install another M.2 2280 128GB Transcend MTE110S PCIe 3.0x4. On M.2 I'm going to install only the system (windows10).
As a matter of fact, the question arose, is it possible to use disks like this? Or will my dreams be shattered?
Windu on m.2, everything else on SATA. Is it smart to do so? And if this can be done, then how to “configure” Windu so that only Windows itself works on m.2 and games, applications, music, movies (and so on) on SATA?

So what a good idea, he put m2 under the system. And ssd to disk D, so to speak, according to the classics. Speed and responsiveness are top notch.
Completion fit
Well, not all applications like to be installed not on the system disk ... And so - no problem. The laptop itself has two SSDs.
As a matter of fact, the question arose, is it possible to use disks like this? Can.
Is it smart to do so?Yes.
And if this can be done, then how to “configure” Windu so that only Windows itself works on m.2 and games, applications, music, movies (and so on) on SATA?Put the system on one disk, configure and place less resource-demanding files on the second disk.
Windu on m.2, everything else on SATA.The most important thing! Are you sure that m.2 is not SATA?
The system disk is at least 250, and then later play tag. And even better - one maximum possible fast budget disk for everything and nearby - a larger HDD is purely for a backup copy of the main disk.
I would only suggest putting m.2 on 256gb, since I often encounter clients with a lack of space on the main disk, but it doesn’t matter, it all depends on the amount of information, and the second one I would also put an ssd ilm hdd with a speed of 7200 per 1tb well of course if financially possible
Elementary. You install the system on ssd (it will be defined as a disk device during installation), and you mark the HDD as drive D (for example) and you already put games on it and copy the movie / music.
There are so many applications that they cannot fit 128 GB with the system?
Everything for which you would like the maximum speed of work - put on an SSD
