Your templates, how to copy them correctly and where?

There is such a question, I made a website and saved my templates to the folder /bitrix/templates/site_template_name/components/bitrix/list of components/
and everything worked without problems. Now you need to customize catalog.item, read it, you need to copy its template from the default (/bitrix/ folder) to your folder, for example, to the local/ folder, that is, it should be
/local/templates/site_template_name/components/bitrix/list of components/.
Created, copied, now the directory opens even without the control panel and all CSS styles are missing in the directory. I copied the directory templates along with the CSS files, in the same way, to the same place - the same situation - no css, no control panel.

Haven't come across this, please help.

You must first transfer your site template from bitrix/templates/template to /local/templates/template
and only then create component templates there.
And so it turns out that you created a path, but there are no site template files there, and the local path takes precedence over /bitrix.
That is, the presence of folders is checked, not files.
And by the way, it is not recommended to touch the bitrix folder at all for a long time.
