Yii2 & smarty not installing?

In general, I decided to try Yuii, I myself am a fierce newcomer.
In general, I installed Yii2 with grief in half on guides from off. site and github through composer. I'm trying to fasten the smarty template engine through the same compose - it seems to be installed, but the controller does not render through the template. In the configs, too, everything seemed to be indicated as on the site. What to do then? Who was friends with them, can you tell me what the pitfalls can be.
And one more question in passing. Do you install the advanset version on top of the base one, or does it come separately? (when installing the advanced composer, the vendor folder was lost somewhere, although it exists in the archive downloaded from the site)

the standard templating engine is not an option initially.
is not executed at all in the terminal, the nat found package writes. Although it was downloaded and installed from under the root. But from under the user all the same does not work.
