The difference between these two frameworks is cardinal. Symfony is aimed primarily at the quality of the code base, yii - at the speed of development (because yii is a RAD framework).
Of course, it is better to use symphony. it implements a number of approaches used for enterprise development out of the box, unlike yii2. But you also need to understand that
the framework itself is not a panacea. First of all, developers creating a project should understand how enterprise applications are built, approaches to its development, etc.

There is such an opinion, but rather the question is more theoretical than practical. In yii2 there are more not beautiful moments than in symphony. But really there is a bunch of enterprise on yii2 and everything is fine.
I would choose between Yii2 or Symfony3 not in terms of "enterprise" or "non-enterprise", but based on the architecture of the project.
