Yii what rights should be specified for the Assets and Runtime folders?

The Yii framework is running on the server. What permissions should be given to the assets and runtime folders? I've given both folders permissions of 777, which allows Yii to create and delete files in those folders. But I'm sure it's wrong to do so. Help deal with this issue.
