XP as router (resolved) / ssh tunnel, vpn and iphone
I recently changed my stable, but relatively slow Internet via ADSL to a faster and cheaper Internet via twisted pair (however, from the same provider). Prior to that, the Internet was regularly distributing an ADSL modem / router to all computers in the house. Now I'm trying to set up an old XP laptop for this.
The Internet is connected via a standard "high-speed connection that requires a username and password". So far, the laptop has 3proxy with http / socks, but I would like to get rid of the need to prescribe the proxy address in programs.
As far as I understand, in the LAN connection settings on other computers, you can specify the "default gateway". Tell me, what needs to be done on a laptop in order to put it with this most basic gateway on all other devices?
PS Thanks for the replies, problem solved.
PPS Taking this opportunity, the second question is possible?
There, on the laptop, via PuTTY, an ssh tunnel is configured to the states and a socks server, which sends other computers there if necessary.
I would like the ability to quickly switch the usual Internet / Shtatovsky on an iPhone. On it, you can register a proxy in the Wi-Fi settings, but every time it’s inconvenient to climb and write manually.
A quick way, for example, is the VPN toggle switch. Actually, an iPhone establishes a VPN connection with a laptop - an incoming connection is configured on the computer, and when connecting, it is written about 1 connected client.
Is there a way to make this VPN connection take the Internet from the socks server from PuTTY and give it to the iPhone? Or is it possible to install some other VPN server there that can do this?
