Have any of you come across such issues? Without displaying posts, but with three columns for widgets? If you have links, please provide. Searched but didn't find.

Wordpress themes without posts, but only with widgets - in my opinion, this is something strange and awkward. Most likely you meant the main of the three areas for widgets. Such a template can be quickly made by hand in the file front-page.php
