With what help to implement music playback on speakers (2: 1) from the ip-network?

There is a computer in one room. In the other room - speakers (3.5 mm input to the sub and a simple audio cable to the speakers) and an Ethernet socket. What device can be used to broadcast sound from a computer to speakers over a network? As far as I understand, you need some kind of ethernet-to-audio converter. Another thought came about rastberry pi. Attach vlc to it. And manage it from a computer.
Or are there already some ready-made solutions?

@brar

it is not indicated what is on the computer from the software ...
- an option when there is iTunes as a player - go to the store and buy an AirPort Express, plug it into Ethernet (turn off WiFi on it) and speakers into it. Everything works (only iTunes and all Apple devices can play through it)
- more ... a cross-platform option, but you have to choose, configure ... read for example habrahabr.ru/post/201034 (rPi + MPD is considered there)

So why can't you just use the ethernet wire as an input to the speakers?
