The FS/Gimp option is not considered, since it is not always possible to use it. Is there a browser plug-in, or a web solution that allows you to get neat pictures at the output, framed by the browser and even with a shadow?

If you have a poppy, then you just need to enable shadows around the screenshot in the terminal
Enable: defaults write com.apple.screencapture disable-shadow -bool true
Disable: defaults write com.apple.screencapture disable-shadow -bool false
