Windows network protection with Linux?

Help me to understand. If I say the Internet will pass through the Linux server that will redirect to the network on Windows. Will I benefit safely from this? I wanted malware for Windows to somehow settle on the Linux gasket. Where can I find info on setting up such a filter if it is theoretically possible.

I'll try briefly - no . more potential. but it needs to be learned and adjusted. but since you ask this question, you do n’t know how (even
learning on your own .. Google is always there; ) .. although both are outdated, MS scored on them)) ... and such a path is not legal)) .. except that it’s easier for Windows users to learn something))

No.
Unless, of course, you don't want to customize it.
I wanted malware for Windows to somehow settle on the Linux gasket.
Malware is software, and it doesn't stay anywhere.
Where can I find info on setting up such a filter if it is theoretically possible.
What exactly do you want to protect?

TS, don't get me wrong, I'm not offended.
I believe that for any person, for you, too, judging by your question, it would be better to buy a simpler piece of iron, which he can correctly configure on his own, than to take something large and complex, in which you will not close and configure what you need.
It will stand for you like an iron door without a lock.
If you know Windu better, dance from it.
At least you will understand where to cover up and fix.
Or, try "simple" Linux-based distributions, such as Kerio Control.
There is intrusion protection and an antivirus, on which something will "settle" for you.
Everything is controlled by a simple web snout.
For your question, no.
It all depends on the setting.
My opinion - potentially, Linux is faster, more reliable and more flexible, in the role of an Internet gateway.

Well, you'll probably win something, especially if you set up a proxy and ban porn sites :)
But the main attack vectors are not computers, but users. That is, a letter arrives to the secretary from the "tax", "court", "bailiffs" or "business partner" - and the cryptor went through the network: D Therefore, protecting the network is usually a complex event and it begins with setting the task "What and from what we We will protect."

Compared to SOHO-class routers, which tend to infect themselves and shit in the network entrusted to them - you will definitely win if you manage. Opportunities will also open up to block any dirty tricks at the entrance to the network.
But no, Linux will not protect you from a Trojan in a letter to an accountant.
And the above is also implemented on Mikrotik, for example.

In the described configuration, Linux will not help. Outside, you need to install either a software solution, for example, Kerio Control or something similar, or configure a hardware firewall, in which case it will be possible to protect the network. Although the main problem of the network is, of course, users.
