Windows hangs when connecting usb-devices. What to do?

Windows 10 pro is installed on a lenovo laptop (i3-3110m, 16Gb RAM, 240Gb SSD)
vmware 12.5 is also installed, 3 virtual machines on linux are running in it (usb forwarding is turned off)
When a usb device is connected to the laptop, it freezes for about 5 minutes -7. Neither explorer nor applications open, window switching does not work. If I turn off all virtual machines, then the connection of external devices works without freezes.
Why is this behavior of the system on connecting peripherals when running virtual machines on vmware and how to fix it?

Try disabling the VMWare USB Arbitrator service and check the connection of something again, with virtual machines running.
