Windows 7 Update keeps restarting

Am I the only one who gets stressed out by this? How can I explain to the “seven” that I cannot reboot a couple of times a day ?!

I usually select "remind me in 4 hours" from the drop down menu and don't bother what to do if they need a reboot. In fact, if this bothers you, choose a manual update and update before you are about to turn off / restart the machine.

In group policies there is an item "Re-prompt for restart with scheduled", there you can set the desired reminder period.

In the Windows Update settings, set to install updates once a week or once a month

Usually updates that may require a reboot come in batches every 2 weeks. On Tuesdays.

Have you tried stopping the Automatic Windows Update service? Now I'm doing this on XP.
