Windows 7: Strange disk lock after installing SP1?
Hello.
Installed today SP1 for Windows 7 and had problems with NTFS permissions for the third hard drive (there are no problems with the system drive and the second data drive). When I try to view the contents of the disk, Windows writes "Access Denied".
I go into the properties, I look at the permissions. Like, nothing criminal. The disk owner is the system, but other disks have the same owner, with which everything is in order. But when you try to change the owner of the disk under the administrator, the message You only have permission to view the current owner "(in English," You only have permission to view the current owner ") is displayed. I note that for the other two disks, I can easily and to easily change the owner in this
way.Okay, let's turn to the console under the administrator.

I stumbled upon your question after you discovered a disk lock using Outpost Security Suite 2011. Once again I am convinced of the failure of huge, massive security products. That KIS 2011 disappointed me when during installation it registered a DLL that crashed IE8, and during uninstallation it unregistered jscript.dll related to IE8. That now I see another problem with Outpost Security Suite 2011. Most likely, I don’t have a foot on any “Security Suite” anymore. I will buy Avira Antivir Premium and will use it with a manually configured Windows 7 firewall.
Recently there was a similar situation with the deletion of the Steam folder: "Access denied" error, but it was not in Outpost. Did a search for the folder name in Process Explorer , found that it is used by igfxtray.exe (an application for managing graphics settings). Nailed igfxtray.exe - and everything was deleted.
It's all strange, of course.
