Win7 IDE for PHP?
I am forced to switch from XP to 7 on a working machine and cannot find a replacement for Zend Development Environment 5.5.
It does not start under the seven for some reason, I looked at the new versions 8 and 9 - some kind of horror, auto-substitution works in one case out of ten, with a delay of a second, etc.
I didn’t find how to work normally on a remote server via FTP or SSH either, it tries to download / cache everything and, given the size of my projects, it just freezes for centuries.
There is also no built-in, quick help, etc.
Does anyone have experience of abandoning ZDE 5.5 without a fatal crash or running it on a seven? What can you comfortably work on in windows 7 under similar conditions?

And what's the point of installing ZDE 5.5, since it doesn't support new PHP 5.3+ features?
I advise you to try PhpStorm, but if you really want 5.5, then you can try the method described here .
Try phpDesigner, works very well over FTP. No need to download the entire project, editing directly on the server
The above methods work, yes. But for myself I discovered a more convenient way to install ZS 5.5 in Win7:
1. Turn on the classic interface in Windows
2. Install Zend Studio 5.5
3. Eunjoy
ZDE 5.5 ran fine on win7 x64 without any problems. There's just a 5.5 version, you need to find the latest build.
But then he got tired of me anyway. I switched to php designer, it also has support for editing via ftp without synchronization, like in phpStorm, for example

On version 9, install completely RSE, it is installed as a plug-in from the eclipse website. Through it, you can safely work on ftp and ssh without any caching.
At one time I could not switch to the 6th branch, but then I saved netbeans, it is quite similar, but I switched only the second time. Now I temporarily use phpstrom, although I have to customize shortcuts, skin ide and color schemes, but it seems to support php 5.4 better. Projects on 5.3 are still only on netbeans, a matter of habit.
