In my opinion, no. I read that such a "freebie" is issued only for half a year.
By upgrading from Windows 7 to Windows 10, you reserved System Activation. If you do not change the motherboard, then in a year you will be able to install a clean Windows 10 and automatically activate it. Note that you don't need a key.
