Will twrp or root crash if I update the firmware?

If it's important, I have custom firmware - Evolution experience - on which the Google shell is installed.

twrp is not. because it is in a separate "recovery" section of the android drive. a recovery image is usually not included in the system firmware, so this section does not change.
root - most likely yes.
because it is located on the system partition or on the user partition.
the new firmware completely overwrites the system partition and clears the user partition (although cleaning the user partition can be disabled, but jambs with applications and all that are possible here).
read about the android sections , who contains what and is responsible for what, additional questions will disappear.
