Will the site work faster if you close other browser tabs?

To be honest, I don’t really understand the topic, so I ask you to answer as simply and in detail as possible.

There is a site in which I work with elements (I put checkmarks, press buttons, some kind of report is built, while the page is not completely updated, as when pressing F5).
Will it run faster if I close other browser tabs?
Does it matter if these are regular article pages or, for example, a social network that constantly checks for new news and messages, although the page is not completely updated?

@MartaD

No, it will not.
Closing other tabs will only free up RAM.
