Will it be right to do the whole game through the UI?

I am currently developing a game in the quest genre. And I would like to know whether it will be correct to do everything through the UI. I will need to zoom pictures, animations, effects. And what are the problems with this approach?

No, this is wrong.
The problem will be with recalculation - the UI in the unit is a tricky thing, and constant animations and movements in it can be very expensive.

It is possible, but why?
For example, zoom suggests the presence of a camera, apparently. Or if there you need to walk around a room that does not fit on the screen, then you need the coordinates of the room and the coordinates of the Persian and the camera relative to the room. Why not use the opportunities that already exist, in accordance with their purpose?
Although, if this is something very very simple like a visual novel, then it is quite an option, why not.
