Will it be difficult to migrate a large project from angular 1.4 to angular 2?

Need to write UI for crm. And the question is which framework to choose - write now on angular 1.4 and then upgrade to 2.0, or look for other alternatives, such as reactjs.

Angular 1.3 meets Angular 2 - a description of how to simplify the transition from angular 1.x to angular2, or rather, what rules should be followed for this.
ps I poked angular2, I write on angular1.4, the difference is of course significant but not so critical that I would really panic.

Considering that the second version has not even left the alpha yet, you can use a coin to answer your question.

Yes, it will be difficult. Even almost impossible.

Why translate if the current framework solves problems? after the release of Angular 2, the first version will not go out, it will be active for another year, two, (five?). Some people still sit on the backbone and knockout :P
And the second version can still be thrown with tomatoes...

You can, but for this you will need to prepare the application code in the appropriate style, here is a complete description of the migration https://angular.io/docs/ts/latest/guide/upgrade.html
