Will I lose data after reinstalling windows 7?

Today the system did not start, reports that the configuration file is missing in it (status oxc00000e9). I don’t have the skills to solve the problem, but I have some kind of installation disk - I think just stick a new OS with the second layer without formatting the system disk. But I'm still undecided.
There are important files on my desktop that I don't want to lose. As already mentioned, the system does not start, I can’t easily merge them onto a USB flash drive. Will they disappear after reinstallation on the same partition of the HDD only without formatting it?

If without formatting, then you will not lose. The main thing then is to be able to find everything, because. your user profile will be different.
You can download a live disk with Windows, for example, from here adminpe.ru you can easily make a bootable flash drive from it, instructions with pictures are included.
And save your files.

Most likely the screw is dying. We boot from the Live DVD/CD, check with Victoria SMART, if the hard drive really dies, we buy a new one and make a copy using Acronis TrueImage (from the same Live DVD/CD). ps and yes, if you act according to this scheme, almost nothing will be lost, except for the software on which the bad's "lay down" ...

1. on the installer of vin7 there is a "system restore", there is an explorer in it (well, or cmd if desired).
2. copy
3. if it is difficult for you to make a bootloader with Viktoria, then full format and try to install the system.
Point 2 must be done before any experiments.

No, they won't disappear, put it on top again. But it's better to extract the data using any boot disk / flash drive and reinstall the system if you don't want to poke around.
