Will a slightly modified article drop from the top?

Let's say I wrote a SEO-optimized article and it got to the top. And she was in the top for 1 year. And then I decided to slightly change this article (for example, I removed a couple of sentences from the middle and added 1 paragraph and a link at the end).
And now attention, the question is:
This article, which I slightly changed, will fly out of the top and start its way back to the top again, or will it retain its position, because I made minor (in my opinion) changes?

On the issue:
If the article is changed for the better (let's say they updated outdated information) - it will only be a plus.
Well, and vice versa, respectively...
Second example:
If you had a re-optimization of the article, and you removed the part with an extra keyword (trying to fit the current algorithms) - also a plus...
Well, and vice versa, respectively...

The date of creation of the document (page), the number of changes during its existence, the volume of changes, the rating (based on the link score), the relevance of the content, the originality of the content.
And this is not a complete list. How these signals and in what proportion interact with each other in the overall ranking algorithm, only God knows.
If the changes are not significant, I think that this should not significantly affect the overall rating of the site.

When a link appears in an old article, this is a huge minus.
The chances of getting out are not small.

I remember that Google can count even this as a plus. When there is an update, addition of content. It `s naturally. When new comments appear on an article, this is also an update. But this means that the article is interesting to readers. You have to be very careful with new links. In general, they should be thematic ....

Of course, it won’t crash, especially if it has already gained normal views and is really useful to people)
