Can anyone suggest an access point model with the ability to set the channel width by user? Well, or maybe there is some kind of alternative firmware that allows such actions.

IMHO, now you can’t find pure points anymore, but almost any Wi-Fi router can be switched to this mode. You need to look at any inexpensive router supported by DD-WRT firmware and flash it. The shaper is enabled by a script .

So far, all that I have seen from access points with a shaper is Dlink DAP-1522

And then the shaper is not for clients, but between the wireless and wired parts.
