Wi-fi drains the battery a lot. This is fine?

In general, the problem is this. I have an Ainol Novo 8 Discover tablet. Wi-fi on it drains the battery very much throughout the operation of the module. The battery is hardly bad, since the tablet was bought recently. Is it possible to reduce the power consumption of the wi-fi module? In the settings, save battery when working wi-fi

find on the internet the specs for the wifi module, see how many watts it consumes, look at the battery capacity, draw a conclusion.

This is not an indicator, especially for an incomprehensible company and a tablet for 5k. Humble yourself

The problem is most likely software. maybe the manufacturer screwed up with the firmware.
As an option to reflash. Well, or look for a program that can probably somehow affect the operation of Wi-Fi

Open the detail on the applications that they consume, Skype, for example, eats the battery very much, about 5 times faster than without it.

I noticed that after I combined wired and wireless interfaces into a bridge in the router, on all smartphones and tablets connected to the router, the battery life was sharply reduced due to multicast and broadcast traffic. The problem was solved by creating a separate virtual isolated access point for mobile devices.
This can be an unsolvable problem for routers whose settings do not allow the wireless interface to be brought out of the bridge into an independent subnet, and therefore all multicast and broadcast home network traffic will "clog" the wireless network, reducing useful bandwidth and increasing the power consumption of connected wireless devices. Among home routers - such 95%.
