Why won't my Java app run over VPN?

Hello.
I ran into a rather strange problem. I was asked to test an application that is launched by navigating to a specific resource. Connection to this resource occurs through a VPN connection. A few days ago my connection went well. The page loaded, and then the application itself was launched. The application is a Java program that is built on top of the Oracle Retail Manager System. I ran everything under Java 8, but they told me that this is not correct and I need to install Java 6. I rearranged it, and after that I can’t start the application. When reverting to Java 8, the application also refuses to start. When you try to run the application, a blank page appears in the browser. What could be the problem, tell me please?

From the category of delirium. A project built under Java 6 will work fine in a later JRE as well.
And on a question - broad gulls in studio.
