Why use the class.php file in a component in 1C-Bitrix?

From the documentation, I didn’t quite understand what is the point of using this file - just replace the actions that we do in component.php with class methods that we define in class.php&

There is a lot of sense, at least some kind of separation and design of the code, from the practical point of view, the same new ajax in components only through class. And in general the use of component.php is deprecated, use class.php
