Why use flywaydb in django?
Hello. Such a thing. I am developing a django project. Recently the project manager and devopser decided to move from django migrations to flywaydb ( https://flywaydb.org/). This is explained by the fact that flyway has migrations in one place and versioning. If anything, it is immediately clear because of what or whom the problem is.
I looked at flyway, but I didn’t see any conceptual difference with django migrations. The same approach, only on pure sql. Plus, we lose additional features of django migrations (eg, auto-generation of migrations, etc.)
Can someone explain what the advantage of flyway is? I did not find any relevant articles.
