Why so many visitors to the new VK public?

Just created a public. So far 500 wound up participants.
In the statistics of visits, there were always no more than 20 views in the last 30 days.
And now I go and see:
Total number of unique visitors for the last 30 days: 1,378
Referral sources: Direct links - 90.51%
At the same time, no new members were added. There are also the same number of post views, i.e. nobody watched them. In general, nothing has changed, except for the numbers in the statistics.
What is it?

It's a google bot and the like. VK has a shitty visitor counter.

I agree with previous comments. There was a group somehow. There were also few participants, not wound up. Attendance was better. True, this does not work with all groups. Most likely, these are either bots, or some other insignificant glitches in the VK statistics
