Why place a TextView and other elements inside a LinearLayout?

I don’t understand why they do this, because you can simply place the component in the workspace and attach it to the sides?

View cannot exist outside the layout . "Attach to borders" is a ConstraintLayout .
It appeared relatively recently and may not always be convenient.
