Why might the asterisk not work in bash?

I noticed that the asterisk stopped working in the Linux command line. On any command using an asterisk, it gives "no such file or directory". What could be the issue here?
Oooh, it looks like it worked. I just restarted the terminal. In the old window, it did not even open the files that I explicitly specified, for example, cat index.php gave out "there is no such file or directory", although such a file was in the directory from which the command was launched, besides, I tried cat ./index.php and the result was the same. It's kind of a mystery!!!
Again, some bullshit. There are some bugs in the mana ((Something is wrong with this bash

In general, the behavior of the asterisk can be changed through the bash settings. But in this case, there is some glitch with the input, it has nothing to do with bash.
