Why learn ms access?

In pairs, they give informative, but very dry presentations on Access, they are very difficult to perceive. What would you recommend for learning from scratch? (I'm doing it for the first time)

Recommendations "do not learn access" - send to ... Where fantasy will tell. Access is a good and more than sufficient base for a beginner. She, in conjunction with ms sql, generally works wonderfully and is written quickly and efficiently.
You can find a more or less normal video course from a "specialist" on torrents.
