Why js and css files are not loaded from the assets folder?

Hello! I am writing the first small yii2 project based on yii2-starter-kit. For some reason, files from the assets folder on the frontend (js and css) stopped loading.
At the same time, Yii sees the extensions themselves, it does not display any errors, there are no errors in the console either.
Where to look? What could be the reason? I didn't edit the config manually.

Found the reason. Due to my inattention, I erased the line
in layouts, returned it to its rightful place, everything worked =)
