Why is Yii2 installed in vendor/yiisoft/yii2 and not vendor/yiisoft/yii2/framework?

Why is Yii2 installed in the vendor/yiisoft/yii2 folder and not vendor/yiisoft/yii2/ framework , according to the https://github.com/yiisoft/yii2 structure ?
Somehow I don't see such an option in composer.json .

Because you are running the setup package command create-project --prefer-dist yiisoft/yii2, which is in here . And where did you link this yii-dev for development. And in general, what difference does it make to you how this framework is stored there?))
