Why is windows not pinging the host?

We have:
Windows 7 x64
Local zone on bind *.lan (Debian 7)
Various servers have entries in both forward and reverse zones.
By ip address, all hosts are pinged. The nslookup command resolves, but if you start a ping or a request by name, nothing happens. The machine does not send packets to dns, but tries to find computers on the network with such names. (Netbios?) I don't know how to phrase it correctly.
How to make windows understand my zone?

Is samba installed on Debian? The fact is that Windows has a special Wins service for this matter. She usually converts names. If there is no server with such a service, then clients should do it. Clients do if the proper program is installed. In this case, samba.

Is the Debian server specified in the connection properties of the dns server? Is the zone name spelled out in the dns-suffix?
