Why is wifi not working in laptop?

I turned off wifi in my Windows 8 laptop, that the charging didn’t work, the next day it doesn’t turn on back, it doesn’t let me do anything with it, I used to click on it, it showed connect and there it just put a tick, but now it doesn’t open this line ... What should I do??? Now I only connect the modem to the laptop, but I need Wi-Fi

Some laptops have a wifi switch, make sure it's turned on.
On some, wifi is turned off with two buttons (Fn + a button with an antenna)
It can also be turned off programmatically (Network Control Center - change adapter settings - right-click on wifi and select "enable")
