Why is there no sound on a laptop with linux?

sound not working on old laptop with lubuntu and xubuntu. I tried to put puppy, there is sound. But puppy does not suit me. I assume that there will be the same problems on ubuntu, although I have not tried it. I haven't been able to resolve the broblem for a week now. I shoveled the entire Internet, tried a lot of things already and nothing helps ... since I am not a particularly experienced linux user, I throw off everything that I can assume is necessary to draw up a general picture of the problem.
Notebook Asus s5000
Xubuntu 16.04.1 LTS
Alsamixer v1.1.0 firmware:
card: HDA Intel
chip: Realtek ALC880
to choose a sound card only HDA Intel
updated and reinstalled and alsamixer and everything else ... does not help.

Try:

inserting options snd-hda-intel model=generic or model=auto into /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and restart
inserting options snd-hda-intel position_fix=1 model=medion into /etc/modprobe.d/ alsa-base.conf and restart with
inserting options snd-hda-intel model=fujitsu into /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base.conf and restart

Allegedly not the right firewood.
But it's best to throw new Setups under the Sonudns and Music categories through the CONSOLE
. Otherwise, Linux will be quiet. All this is due to incompatibility.
