Why is there no cvHaarDetectObjects method?

Hello! I'm trying to learn how to recognize faces using JavaCV, I do everything according to the lesson .
My JavaCV version is 1.5.3
In this lesson, a person uses the cvHaarDetectObjects method, and my netbeans IDE says that there is no such method.
The same situation is with the CvLoad() method.
Maybe I'm doing something wrong?
