Why is there an error in the Linux terminal?

When I try to sudo airmon -ng start wlan0 I get the error
Requested device "wlan0" does not exist

But seriously: WiFi is not forwarded to the virtual machine, it uses a bridge, which for the guest OS will be visible as a normal Ethernet connection.

What, the phrase device does not exist can not be translated in any way? :) Wifi does not pass into the virtual machine if it is not a separate card in the slot.
