Why is there a heavy load on NVME disks?

On the server under the system are NVME disks. OS Centos 7. After installing the OS and applications, I began to watch the load with the atop utility. And so on these disks loading to 90 %. I was worried, but I was told that these are high-speed disks and the atop utility shows incorrect information on them.
I would like to get confirmation of this information from other sources. Or a rebuttal. Please tell me who has knowledge and experience in this area, how true is this statement about NVME disks and the atop utility?

@2ord

If there is no trust in atop, then you can check with other tools .
In the case of numbers similar to atop, we will get confirmation. Otherwise, it's a rebuttal.
Note: only if the problem with NVMe data is not known to the developers of these tools.

@Eddwardo

This problem is really known to the atop developers and it was discussed on their github.
