Why is the wrong date format displayed when outputting with VBScript from MS Access?

Hello. Such a problem. There is a database in Access. It has a number field with non-integer numbers like 4.5; 5.7 etc. There is also a field with dates, where the short date format is selected (02/12/2014). So, I use VBScript to display information from the database on the page. In IE 10 mode (I have IE 11), after connecting the database and filling in the fields, in the field where the short date format should be, I see this: Wed Dec 15 00:00:00 UTC+0200 1993, and the field, where there should be a number like 9.1, I have 9.100000381469726 displayed. In IE 8 mode, it works as it should, but the layout floats, so using IE 8 mode is not an option.
