Why is the task missing from the Task Sheduler?

In the Task Scheduler, in the History tab of the task, I see Warning - Missed task start rejected, Event 153. Microsoft found on the Internet on Technet that you need to enable the option "Run task as soon as possible after a scheduled start is missed" . What could have happened on the server that caused the job to be lost?
